We Established Crossway Alliance CIC 2023

We Established Crossway Alliance CIC

Our organisation was established in 2023 by a local resident and public health physician who was inspired by his experience in the community and engagement with local residents. We worked with local people by focusing on what matters to them. Our services were developed through community engagement to identify needs and barriers.

We Started Offering a Combination of Services 2024

We Started Offering a Combination of Services

From a small beginning, we have grown into an organisation offering a combination of services including stop smoking service, local health campaigns, workshops, events and talks as well as volunteering opportunities, 1 to 1 support, social inclusion (a signposting service that provides advice and assistance to people who are excluded from the society helping them to integrate into the society by linking them to resources within the community). Our belief is that a more socially included person is likely to have better access to the wider determinants of health that contribute to positive wellbeing. Social inclusion is considered one of the key "wider determinants of health" because it directly affects a person's ability to access resources and opportunities that contribute to good health, like quality housing, nutritious food, and healthcare services.

We are Increasing our Activities and Network within the Community

Through our strategic and integrated programme, we empower people to take charge and manage their own health and wellbeing, and since inception we have given 1-1 support to over 300 locals, as well as seeing almost 750 attendances at our activity and group support sessions. We are proud to be part of the health and wellness of Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale community. Thanks to our distinctive, close and long-standing relationship with other VCFSE’s, local authority, social prescribers and the local Primary Care Network. None of our work would be possible without the strategic influence and support of our funders. (Action Together, National Lottery Community Fund, Co-Op Local Community Fund).
